As a fourth-generation New Yorker, Sandy is an ABC
with urban roots. She grew up in a loving, church-going,
Cantonese and Toisan-speaking family. (That explains
the blank stare on her face when you speak Mandarin
to her...please offer an interpretation!). Sandy received
Christ at age 14 and has developed a love for youth
ministry ever since.
Sandy studied architecture at the
Cooper Union in New York City prior to her ministry
call. After earning a B.S. in Christian education with
a music minor (classical guitar) at Nyack College and
M.A.R. in theology at Westminster Theological Seminary,
Sandy began leading the Youth
Ministry at CBCGB in August 1989. Her kingdom vision
is to develop an innovative, progressive cross-cultural
youth ministry and produce relevant resources and curricula
for the next generation.
Sandy and her husband, Peirung,
are enjoying the thrills of parenthood with their sons,
Ted and Spencer.
