A. In Attendance:

  1. Pastors (8): Caleb Chang, Steve Ziyi Chang, King-Fai Choi, David Eng, Chuck Lowe, Jennifier Lin, Sandy Liu, Jiang Wei.

C. Meeting Agenda & Minutes: Elder Jack led us all to have a opening Prayer @ 9:03AM.

  1. Financial Report (as of the end of November) (Deacon T.C.)
  1. General Fund - In November we have income of $141,004 and our expenses are $82,115, the surplus is $58,889 and the cumulative surplus at end of November is $141,865.
  2. Benevolence Fund - In November we have income of $10,068 and our expense is $0, the cumulative surplus at end of November is $54,425.
  3. Mission Fund  -  In November we have income of $26,153 and our expenses are $25,354 , the surplus are $799 and the cumulative surplus at end of November is $124,221.
  4. Capital Fund - In November we have income of $4,314 and our expenses is $0, and the cumulative surplus at end of November is $148,588.
  5. Church Building Expansion Fund (CBET) - In November we have income of $2,915 and our expense is $0, and the cumulative surplus at end of November  $178,728.
  6. SCM Fund - In November we have income of $2,860 and our expenses are $4,519, the deficits are $1,659 and the cumulative surplus at end of November is $41,705.
  7. BMWBC Bond Interest Fund - In November we have income of $440 and our expenses is $0, and the cumulative surplus at end of November is $1,986.
  8. Class Balance Report show we have $1,023,166 in bank. That include Sunday Dinning $37,738 and Zion Fellowship $4,178 which are not owned by the church.
  9. In General fund for the first five months our income increase 28% and expense increase 12% than last year's first five months.
  1. Pastoral Report (Please contact all ministry pastors to learn more about details).
  1. Elder Jack consulted with pastors around upon pastoral reports.
  2. Elder Jack also discussed church’s next year calendar with all council members.
  1. Exhortation from Sr. Pastor (Pastor Caleb)
  1. Philosophy of ministry - Equipping the Saints to build up the body of Christ until the Days of the Lord (Eph. 4:11-14).
  1. Membership Committee (Elder Chaw-Bing, & Deacon Patrick)
  1. Patrick presented historical background and a live demo for establishing Internet accessible church-wide directory service infrastructure.
  2. The file-based church membership legacy data has been migrated over LDAP server. A secure Web-based services has been deployed for council and membership committee members.
  3. More feedback are given to the membership committee.
  1. CBET project: (Elder Jack & Terry)
  1. Core concerns are categorized into four as below, BoE members all think thoroughly for those concerns and proposed to move on.
  1. Does the CBE support the mission of CBCGB?
  2. Does the CBE support the spiritual priorities of CBCGB?
  3. Does the CBE support the structural strategies of CBCGB?
  4. Does the CBE surpass the resources limitations of CBCGB?
  1. Discussion continued:
  1. Council members spent another long hours to discuss this project.
  2. According to the first survey, Elder K.C. reported high number of results in agreement of this proposed project within council.
  3. Pastor Caleb raised a prayer request to whole council members and suggested all the planting ministries to work together in mission and church building project.
  4. Many technical details including fund raising, timing, space, vision, mission, priorities are all discussed.
  5. Council chair, Elder Jack, decides not to go for it yet, since the substantial consensus has not yet reached within this council body.
  6. Elder K.C. will follow up with the 2nd survey.
